asuming thath our planet is only going to be generous enough to support life on it any more will be roughly 500 million years, by the time that any of our “greetings” would be reaching alien life by the time that all of our life on earth may be completely gone with no remnants of it ever even being here. in about the 500 million years i quoted earlier, our oceans and lakes will be depleted, and our life will quickly vaporize from that point… i would estimate less that a week
Right now we are struggling just to put a number on the probability of life elsewhere. Knowing how it would look is even more difficult. But I think it’s pretty safe to say that if life here on earth has so many many different forms, probably it will be true of other planets. I for one think that we might be very able to find creatures in other planets which certainly will look like beings from earth. But mostly for the simplest designs like jelly fish. Anything more complex I don’t think so.
not really. what I was saying was that they can’t know for sure that they won’t look humanoid. you can’t put a probability on that when you have no other planets with life to compare to look at besides this one.
