Life of a star:
Stage 1: Formation
Star forms in nebula from supernova explosion
Gravity compacts it into a glowing ball of gases
Stage 2: Main Sequence
The star uses nuclear fusion to fuse hydrogen into helium
Stage 3: Red Giant/Supergiant
Once the hydrogen is almost gone, the star expands and reddens to destroy part or all of its solar system
