Moon Landing Hoax

“Bogosity Ep. 9: Lunar Lunacy II (Part 1/3)” by • www.youtube.com • www.bogosity.tv • www.shanekillian.org More on the moon hoax conspiracy, showing not only that the conspiracy theory is bogus, but that you can’t trust a word that those hawking the theory say. — Subscribe to Science & Reason: • www.youtube.com • www.youtube.com • www.youtube.com — Various Moon landing conspiracy theories claim that some or all elements of the Apollo Project and the associated Moon landings were falsifications staged by NASA and members of other involved organizations. Since the conclusion of the Apollo program, a number of related accounts espousing a belief that the landings were faked in some fashion have been advanced by various groups and individuals. Some of the more notable of these various claims include allegations that the Apollo astronauts did not set foot on the Moon; that NASA and others intentionally deceived the public into believing the landings did occur by manufacturing, destroying, or tampering with evidence, including photos, telemetry tapes, transmissions, and rock samples; and that the deception continues to this day are common to most of the conspiracy theories. However, there is ample third-party evidence for Apollo Moon landings, and commentators have published detailed rebuttals to the hoax claims. A 1999 poll by The Gallup Organization found that 89% of the US public believed the landings were genuine, while 6% did not, and 5% were undecided. A number of

Amazing Space Photos From A Helium Balloon: Images of earth from space

logo

A father-of-three from Huddersfield has captured images of earth from space using a weather balloon. Starting in October 2008, 38-year-old Robert Harrison filled 12 High Altitude Balloons with helium and launched them 35 kilometres into the atmosphere. Having wrapped a digital camera and Global Positioning System device in loft insulation and linked it to computer software on the ground, he More..was able to track the balloons’ progress. He said: “The first time I saw the pictures, I couldn’t believe it.” The rare images caught the attention of experts in the field and it wasn’t long before Harrison received a telephone call from NASA. In total, the project cost Harrison £4000 and he believes the achievement was worth every penny.

SPACE SHUTTLE – Payload

logo

ALL GOOD THINGS nasa’s Space Shuttle, officially called the Space Transportation System (STS), is the spacecraft currently used by the United States government for its human spaceflight missions and is scheduled to be retired from service in 2010. At launch, it consists of a rust-colored external tank (ET), two white, slender Solid Rocket Boosters (srbs), and the orbiter, a winged spaceplane which is the space shuttle in the narrowest sense. The orbiter carries astronauts and payload such as satellites or space station parts into low earth orbit, into the Earth’s upper atmosphere or thermosphere.[1] Usually, five to seven crew members ride in the orbiter. The payload capacity is 22700 kilograms (50000 lb). When the orbiter’s mission is complete it fires its Orbital Maneuvering System (OMS) thrusters to drop out of orbit and re-enters the lower atmosphere.[1] During the descent, the shuttle orbiter decelerates from hypersonic speed primarily by aerobraking and then for the landing phase it acts as a glider, making a completely unpowered (“deadstick”) landing. The Shuttle is the first orbital spacecraft designed for partial reusability. It carries payloads to low Earth orbit, provides crew rotation for the International Space Station (ISS), and performs servicing missions. The orbiter can also recover satellites and other payloads from orbit and return them to Earth. Each Shuttle was designed for a projected lifespan of 100 launches or 10 years’ operational life. The man
