Eclipse over the Temple of Poseidon The Moon moved to partly block the Sun for a few minutes last week as a partial solar eclipse became momentarily visible across part of planet Earth. In the above single exposure image, meticulous planning enabled careful photographers to capture the partially eclipsed Sun well posed just above the ancient ruins of the Temple of Poseidon in Sounio, Greece. • antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov ? Dust Sculptures in the Rosette Nebula Noted for the common beauty of its overall shape, parts of the Rosette Nebula, also known as NGC 2237, show beauty even when viewed up close. Visible above are globules of dark dust and gas that are slowly being eroded away by the energetic light and winds by nearby massive stars. Left alone long enough, the molecular-cloud globules would likely form stars and planets. The Rosette Nebula spans about 50 light-years across and lies about 4500 light-years away. • antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov ? Watch Jupiter Rotate What would it be like to coast by Jupiter and watch it rotate? This was just the experience of the New Horizons spacecraft as it approached and flew by Jupiter. Visible above in the extensive atmosphere of the Solar System’s largest planet are bands and belts of light and dark clouds, as well as giant rotating

A quick video showing our Solar System to scale. It includes the 8 planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune) and 3 out of the 5 dwarf planets (Ceres, Pluto, and Eris; missing Haumea and Makemake because this video was made before Pluto was demoted as a planet) Sorry there’s no sound. Other then that, enjoy! Please comment, rate, and subscribe!

Neil deGrasse Tyson – The Pluto Files 5-8

logo

Neil deGrasse Tyson, the bestselling author and director of the world-famous Hayden Planetarium, chronicles America’s irrational love affair with Pluto, man’s best celestial friend. In August 2006, the International Astronomical Union voted Pluto out of planethood. It is a wonder Pluto has any fans, yet during the mounting debate over Pluto’s status, people rallied behind the extraterrestrial underdog. Pluto is entrenched in the American cultural, patriotic view of the cosmos and Neil deGrasse Tyson is on a quest to discover why. Only Tyson

Seeing that it received few hits, which may be due to the title and tags. In order for more people to see and enjoy this video I mirrored the edited version, so people won’t get too side tracked on the political message. (Although I’m against wars and big oil as well) Please see the original version if you like here www.youtube.com -=NOTE=- This video was made BEFORE “VY Canis Majoris” was listed as the largest known star, When this video was made 2006 by it’s author JAXXrr, the star “VV Cephei A” was listed as the largest known star. For a list of current largest “known” stars see en.wikipedia.org Keep in mind while watching this video that the “largest known stars” are all found in our own galaxy (The Milky Way). We know of only of a very few of the estimated 200-300 Billion stars that make up our galaxy, which is just ONE of

*I have recently played this video for my science class. I’m glad I got the chance to present this. It was so exciting! This is completely different from my usual art. Well, I didn’t have Image Permission. However, I did give Nasa, JPL caltech, and Space Science Institute Credit for The Pictures. Anyways, This is a Tribute to Our Solar System. I love Space and The Planets and Moons. SUBSCRIBE!!!
