At the Beyond Belief conference, astronomer Carolyn Porco describes the spirituality inherent in the scientific view of the Universe. To see what a science-based religion might look like in real life, take a look at yoism.org Go to http to see the rest of this three part series (you can also download this video there). And see www.yoism.org to understand what we mean by “saint” in Yoism and why we refer to Dr. Porco as “Saint Carolyn.”

Hail Science!! Celebrating 400 years since Galileo first peered into the milky dark with the 2009 International Year of Astronomy. With images from the Hubble and Spitzer Space Telescopes. Find free space images at nasaimages.org The Chromatics’ “Shoulders of Giants” free download and lyrics available at: www.astrocappella.com Music and Lyrics by Padi Boyd © 2008, The Johannes Kepler Project It was a calm and cloudless night but it was all still a blur A shaking of our Universe was just about to occur It was Summertime… 1609 when Galileo used his telescope for the very first time and he saw mountains and craters on the moon and a Milky Way with thousands of stars and he saw Jupiter, with four tiny moons he was the only man on Earth that night who knew That Copernicus was right come outside with me tonight and I can show you wonders of the world to surprise and delight I’ve got my telescope with me just wait until you see that on the Shoulders of Giants…. … we’ll see beyond! The world turns round and round now around 400 years have flown since Galileo’s telescope first focused the unknown Now we use bigger glass to peer into the past And we’re discovering the Universe’s secrets at last And there are geysers on Saturn’s icy moon and planets circling hundreds of stars while all the Universe expands like a balloon from Galileo’s tiny scope we’ve come so far Galileo was right when he looked out in the night and he discovered wonders of the world to surprise and delight I …

The Science of Inflation Theory by Dr. Michio KakuDear viewer, please read the description before placing a comment, thank you for all your support . If you are a creationist read the following instructions: 1st please get a real job, 2nd do some research, 3rd educate yourself, 4th read some books, 5th acquire some culture and knowledge, 6th then make a comment. Thank you. Some Christian, Islamic or other theistic extremists, mix, by pure ignorance, the big bang with evolution, wich are two completely different branches of science. THE BIG BANG The Big Bang is the cosmological model of the initial conditions and subsequent development of the Universe that is supported by the most comprehensive and accurate explanations from current scientific evidence and observation. As used by cosmologists, the term Big Bang generally refers to the idea that the Universe has expanded from a primordial hot and dense initial condition at some finite time in the past (best available measurements in 2009 suggest that the initial conditions occurred around 13.3 to 13.9 billion years ago), and continues to expand to this day. Extrapolation of the expansion of the Universe backwards in time using general relativity yields an infinite density and temperature at a finite time in the past. This singularity signals the breakdown of general relativity. How closely we can extrapolate towards the singularity is debated—certainly not earlier than the Planck epoch. The early hot, dense phase is itself …

Do Atheists Believe In Intelligent Extraterrestrial Life? / Video Do atheists believe in intelligent extraterrestrial life? Many do, despite the fact there is no evidence to support such. Yet they refuse to believe in Gods existence, despite the evidence. Such is the clouded thinking of the atheists. From rosaryfilms of Secret of the Rosary Films.

In this episode, we’ll look at a couple of bogus attempts to undermine science related to Lunar and Solar astrophysics. I apologise for the somewhat erratic sound/volume in this video. I did not record it all in one go, and I have no idea what I’m doing in iMovie. The next one will be better. To those who were referred to me by DonExodus2, thank you for checking out my videos and I hope you’ll like what you see enough to subscribe. To DonExodus2 himself, thank you very much indeed for your support. Various multimedia in this video was created by NASA/ESA/JAXA/ESO/Berkley/Exeter Errata: 1. I apologise, this is just completely wrong. It was thought up until 1965 that Mercury was tidally locked to the Sun, but was proven to have 3:2 spin orbit resonance. That means for every 2 years on Mercury, there are 3 days. One Mercurian year is about 88 Terran days and one Mercurian day about 59 Terran days. I think I was once told that Mercury *was* thought to be tidally locked with the Sun, and confused that to mean it was the current consesus. Again, sorry! Eric’s latest creation minute episode where he presents evidence for a young Earth! He uses the standard machine gun tactic where he blasts out many things without properly explaining their relevance. Furthermore, some of the “evidence” he presents seems to not be in support of a young earth, but in support of Noah’s flood which would be irrelevant towards gauging the age of the Earth. For more great information on actual science and reason, visit talkorigins.org! Footage used under the “Fair Use” clause for commentary and review purposes. However, it’s mostly used for correctional purposes.
