The term “Mongol” is usually assumed to have always meant the same thing – however, this turns out to be incorrect. The hordes were actually professional armies with a tradition of lifelong conscription (the recruitment being the so-called “blood tax”). Their so called “invasions” were punitive operations against the regions that attempted tax evasion. Russian history as we know it today is a blatant forgery concocted by a host of German scientists brought to Russia in luggage of the usurper dynasty of the Romanovs. But why did Horde have to be invented? The first observatory to cover the entire range from far-infrared to sub-millimetre wavelengths and bridge the two, Herschel will explore further in the far-infrared than any previous mission, studying otherwise invisible dusty and cold regions of the cosmos, both near and far.
